Ce fut mon dernier reportage réalisé pour MM, le premier juillet avant de me faire spolier mon travail le lendemain.

En allant au Locle, on passe par la Chaux de fond, les Brénets à gauche...
On est dans le coeur de l'horlogerie Suisse, coeur grâce au micro-climat politique Hélvétique, la ville est encore préservé, la visite est géniale, je vous ferais un reportage un jour sur le canton de Neuchatel:

Le locle abrite Tissot, Zenith, Ulysse Nardin, Rolex (et oui tout ne tient pas dans le gigantesque bunker de plan les ouates), Bergeon (que je classe dans l'industrie horlogère) ainsi que nombreuses autres structures horlogères.
Au milieu desquels ont trouve les Artisans Horlogers.

Les AH sont une petite scruture, à taille humaine, on est loin des holdings en cascasdes des grands groupes horlogers, ici, on trouve des concepteurs, et des horlogers/monteurs/finisseurs.
Le premier étage est dédié à la conception.

Conception technique, mais aussi esthétique sur certains projets, l'inspiration esthétique, pour Laurent, vient des mangas des années 80, Laurent est fan, et bien qu'il soit aussi fan d'Aston Martin, (et heureux propriétaire d'une AM Virage) il à décidé de plus s'inspirer des classiques du mangas, que sur des classiques de l'auto, inspiration originales, qui nous changes agréablement des concepts horloger/auto totalements usés.
Le clin d'oeil le plus évident est l'Astéro-Hache qui sert de rotor aux HM.
Beaucoup moins connu (attention SCOOP), le boitier de la HM4, vient des réacteur de l'Atlantis 84 le vaisseau d'Albator, désormais ne dites plus « HM4 Thunderbolt », mais « HM4 Atlantis SXX » ou si vous êtes plus grand public « HM4 Albator »

J'adore le balancier maitre, le gros balancier permet de synchroniser le petit, par réglage du spiral, ça demande beaucoup de doigté, c'est une expérience horlgogère assez unique, indispensable dans la vie d'un passionné, à noter que ce mode de réglage est aujourd'hui presque abandonné, c'est fort regrettable.

La fascination pour le travail des horlogers viendrait-elle de l'ennuie de nos vie d'employés de bureau?

Certains qualifierais les méthodes des Artisans horlogers, d'archaïques, j'y vois tout au contraire, l'esprit traditionnel de l'horlogerie Suisse qui souffle bien plus fort que dans les plaquettes marketing des grandes maisons.
Ces méthodes permettent une plus grande réactivité, on est loin des grosses machines industrielles guidés par le Diktat du marketing, comme le vaisseau (Atlantis SXX) est bien plus petit, il est bien plus maniable. :)

Remarquez la qualité de l'assemblage. (Et oui Laurent n'est pas responsable de l'aspect du produit final)

Les mouvements de Laurent, le travail de finition est superbe, les dimensions sont souvent assez proche des standards ETA, c'est difficile de changer les habitudes.
Pourtant des 15-16-17 lignes mériterait toute leur place dans la gamme.
Typiquement, Laurent vient de sortir un 8 jours double barillet, de 8mm sur 30 (13lignes), très proche du JlC877
Pour info les dimensions des mouvements, le dernier en 13 lignes et demi est proposé désormais avec un 8jours, assez proche j'imagine du JlC 877 sur l'architecture d'ensemble:

LAH 875 : mouvement à ancre à remontage manuel, diamètre 19.40 mm (8’’’¾), épaisseur 3.80 mm, RdM 38h.
LAH 1050 : mouvement à ancre à remontage manuel, diamètre 23.30 mm (10’’’½), épaisseur 3.80 mm, RdM 40h.
LAH 1150 : mouvement à ancre à remontage automatique à masse périphérique, diamètre 25.60 mm (11’’’½), épaisseur 4.00 mm, RdM 42h.
LAH 1250 : mouvement à ancre à remontage automatique à masse périphérique, diamètre 28.00 mm (12’’’½), épaisseur 3.80 mm, RdM 70h.
LAH 1325 : mouvement tourbillon à remontage manuel, diamètre 30.00 mm (13’’’¼), épaisseur 5.91 mm, RdM 130 h.
LAH 1326 : mouvement à ancre à remontage automatique à masse périphérique, diamètre 30.00 mm (13’’’¼), épaisseur 3.80 mm, RdM 70h.

Extrait d'un dossier presse, Laurent, est face à face, est sensiblement sur la même ligne, il fustige par exemple et de manière assez rafraichissante par exemple les roue à colonne, procédé selon lui éculé...

«Notre démarche est de proposer une gamme complète permettant de répondre à toutes les tailles de montre. En règle générale, les propositions du marché sont axées sur un diamètre unique avec une multitude d’affichages figés. Nous privilégions des classiques pour l’affichage (Heures, minutes, seconde au centre, petite seconde dans plusieurs positions, quantième normal et surdimensionné) et nous nous focalisons sur l’intégration de l’ADN de la marque cliente à notre produit. Afin de mieux répondre à cette personnalisation, nos produits automatiques ont une masse périphérique dégageant ainsi les ponts fabriqués à la demande. Pour les affichages spécifiques, nous privilégions les modules dédicacés utilisant au maximum notre banque d’organe (Principe du Lego) pour obtenir des produits à faible coût. »

On touche dans ce commentaire, je pense, à la limitation de l'horlogerie Suisse, qui en fait aussi sa plus grande qualité, une certaine stabilité, qui malheureusement, est aussi une limitation des risques, la taille des mouvements est conditionné par le catalogue ETA, pourtant, vu l'inflation des boitiers des mouvements de montres de 15-16-17 lignes (une ligne = 2,22mm) auraient toute leur place dans une gamme de Laurent, d'autant qu'il réalise de très belle choses, et que finalement, c'est plutôt le gabarit trop standard de ces mouvements qui fait qui empêche sa production de passer de très bien à exceptionnel.
Ne vous y trompez pas, passé par Richemont et Zénith (oui il bossait avec Titi-Sploiler-Arrière), Laurent est vrai concepteur, mais c'est aussi un gérant de PME, il doit faire crouter une vingtaine de salarié, et les expériences horlogère extrême conduisent parfois à des situations à la Fabrication de Montres Normandes.

Mais c'est ainsi que l'horlogerie Suisse survie depuis 200ans, en ayant une certaine frilosité, qui entraine cette stabilité industrielle si chère au cœur des passionnés.

Justement, en parlant d'industrie horlogère:

« Nous pouvons offrir une solution clé en main à nos clients et cela depuis le cahier des charges jusqu’à la livraison aux distributeurs. Nous gérons l’ensemble d’un projet chez nous (Mouvement, habillage, assemblage, packaging etc.). Par contre, hormis le montage horloger, nous ne produisons rien en interne. Depuis la création de la société, nous avons un réseau de partenaires performants dans leurs domaines respectifs (Rouage, Ebauche, décolletage, découpage, décoration etc.). Ainsi nous avons le meilleur des chaque branche au lieu d’une production interne médiocre. A chacun ses compétences… Les nôtres sont la création, la technique, la gestion logistique, la mise au point, le contrôle et le montage. Avec moins de vingt personnes nous livrons plus de quantité que des structures atteignant des centaines d’employés. Par contre, à travers notre portefeuille de sous-traitance de proximité, nous n’avons pas loin de 200 personnes travaillant pour nous. Cela évite l’effet sclérosant des problèmes de production sur notre créativité. »

Et là, on touche à l'esprit de l'horlogerie Suisse véritable, la pérennité d'un système organisé autour d'un tissus industriel matriciel, voire organique, on est très loin de notre centralisme total Français, mais l'histoire prouve que les souris survivent mieux que les brontosaures.
Ce système permet de faire manger tout le monde, et rend la question de délocalisation plus compliqué, cette organisation, est finalement une des meilleur garante du swiss made.

Et d'ailleurs, j'illustre, ça nous change agréablement des Paris-New-York-Tokyo:

Donc les Artisans Horlogers c'est de l'horlogerie à la main, de la qualité, du réalisme, voire du pragmatisme Suisse, et comme moi même je suis pragmatique, j'ai pris les pots de vins:
