Les montres de marque et de collection, un investissement sûr ? A condition que la montre (ou toutes ses pièces) soit authentique !
Fabrice Guéroux, spécialiste de la contrefaçon horlogère et auteur de plusieurs ouvrages sur le sujet, vient de lancer un pavé dans la marre d’un marché en pleine expansion : la vente de fausses montres via Internet. Si son premier ouvrage « Vraies et fausses montres », sorti en 2007, faisait état de la contrefaçon horlogère et offrait au lecteur des visuels de fausses (et de vraies) montres afin d’aider ce dernier à se familiariser avec le sujet, son dernier ouvrage est une bible pour tout acheteur. C’est un véritable voyage au cœur de la vraie et de la fausse horlogerie, un fléau qui ces cinq dernières années a pris un essor conséquent grâce à des moyens presque aussi importants que ceux des marques, tant d’un point de vue financier qu’industriel.
L’ouvrage contient près de 300 pages entièrement illustrées présentant l’évolution de la contrefaçon en amenant le lecteur au cœur du produit. Une manière efficace de « former » le lecteur à l’identification en lui permettant de s’appuyer sur des connaissances solides des différentes technologies de fabrication utilisées par les contrefacteur et par les manufactures horlogères.
Depuis 2004, Fabrice Guéroux œuvre contre la contrefaçon horlogère. Auteur d’ouvrages sur le sujet, il a depuis largement étendu ses activités à la lutte à proprement parler : conférences, formations, investigations, expertises, etc. Si les douanes ou encore la Section de Recherches de la Gendarmerie Nationale on fait appel à lui, c’est que ses connaissances du marché horloger tant contemporain que de collection, on permis à plusieurs reprises de procéder à des saisies conséquentes. Il a aussi couvert le sujet dans une émission réalisée par M6 sur la contrefaçon de montres Rolex. Fabrice Guéroux œuvre de façon indépendante, convaincu que si chacun prenait en partie responsabilité pour le fléau que représente la contrefaçon, l’impact sur le consommateur ne seraient peut-être pas aussi désastreux.

Fabrice Gueroux, counterfeit watch expert and author of three books on the subject set the cat among the pigeons in a growing market: counterfeit watches traffic on Internet. Its first book released in 2007 was an assessment of this market, illustrated with many fake and real watches. The new volume, illustrated with more than 300 detailed pictures and comments is a bible for one in a need of the necessary knowledge on the subject. A journey into the core of the counterfeit watch business, a scourge which alarmingly increased the last five years. The means provided for this market are now close to those of the brands, financially and industrially talking.
The book contains more than 300 pages, fully illustrated, and shows the evolution of counterfeits, driving the reader deep into the product. An effective training for the reader and a real journey into the different manufacturing techniques used by both the watch manufactures and the counterfeiters – an essential basic knowledge for one who wants to be able to authenticate a watch.

Author of books, he just extended the scope of his researches to a real struggle: conferences, trainings, investigations, expertise, etc. He participated with the customers and police services in France during investigations and seizures, sharing his knowledge and enabling a consequent quantity of fake products destruction. He participated to a national TV News program on Rolex, where he covered the counterfeit subject. Fabrice Gueroux acts as an independent actor, convinced that if any person in horology business did his bit, the impact on the customer would not be as disastrous.
